Mulia University is a non-profit institution under the management of the Airlanggaa Foundation. The origin of Mulia University has started a long time ago. It is a merger of several colleges, namely STMIK Balikpapan, ASMI Airlangga Balikpapan, and STMIK SPB Samarinda. This is evidenced by a decree from the ministry of the Republic of Indonesia. Based on the regulations of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, a university must be a non-profit legal entity.
